summer garden party with susanna's winged messenger

This weekend David and I hosted a most bewitching summer
party in his garden. I can barely even begin to tell you how
magical it was. At the back of his garden is a gorgeous
tree and he strung it with purple and white twinkle
lights and set up a vintage table underneath with the record
player for dancing. Nearby a fire crackled beside haybales
draped in lovely textiles for seating, and stepping stones were
illuminated with tealights in vintage jam jars brought along
by our dear friend John ~ colorful old iron chairs were set up by
the pond and the path was sprinkled with rose petals. David is
a remarkably visionary and poetic artist and throughout the
garden were playful little surprises hidden around
flowers and a lovely old chandelier hung from the tree lit up
with flickering candles for the dancers.
Perfectly picturesque:)

Basking in the company of a warm group of friends with a very
potent Sangria I had made and various middle eastern dips and
salads, time truly seemed to stand still as David spun tunes
until three in the morning.
An almost~full moon beamed in pleasure with the joy of this
unearthly night. I have been spending the past two weeks
completing my book and this magical celebration seemed the
perfect marker of this passage in my life surrounded by a joyful
love of friends.

Recently my beautiful friend Susanna sent me her winged
messengers to set free ~ and I thought it would be
lovely to string one of them from the tree where everyone
danced the evening away. Ultimately I shall set this
irridescent art piece free someplace else quite soon, but
it just felt right to me to share it on this oddly transformational
evening. Everyone was quite spellbound with the messenger as
it swayed in the moonshot breeze and it made my heart feel
quite warm to have her luminous artistic presence there
celebrating with us. Pop on over to see her winged messengers
and their journey through the world here:)

Oh! and I must say that this week might be my very most
favorite ever for The four with quite the enchanting alchemy:)

a most delightful song for your listening pleasure:)

A garden party under a tree of twinkling lights...how perfect is that? You have described it so perfectly...I have all these magical images swimming through my head like a lucid dream.

I have been fortunate enough to receive those winged messangers myself and I treasure them. I am waiting for the opportunity to release them onto the world. I think this is such a beautiful project and so ingenious.

Maddie I am glad you had a wonderful time with loved ones. Thank you for always been such an inspiration.

A garden party with twinkling lights, chandeliers and rose petals, sounds divine! glad you are feeding your poetic soul!
Love,
Suvarna

Oh, I so hope I can dream this as dream tonight. A little fairy dust on the sheets to insure I sleep soundly should help. How incredibly enchanting.

This is simply enchanting. The breezes you shared from your party make it so easy for me to close my eyes and sway along. I am brought back only by your words of "completing my book". Shh..I crave to know more, my friend.

I wish I had been there. Sounds truly magical. But at least I got to feel it through your description.

Ohhhhhhhhh...you are such a sweet, kind, beautiful friend, Maddie! Wow. I'm blown away. Your photograph is so beautiful...and in such a beautiful setting. Really, your words describing the summer garden party have me wishing I was there, feeling as though I was there. Thank you. Wish I could give you a big hug right now!

And the photos of The Four are so feminine, so pretty. They really do feel as though four women got together and created a meaningful magical weekend.

you made me feel like I was right there in the enchanted garden, swirling, dancing under the purple and white twinkling lights. thank you for transporting me this evening, to a place of magic and joy. I had a tough day and this post completely changed my mood.

i can't wait to hear more about your book -- is it purely poetry? photography and words? how can I purchase it?

The Four's challenge is so enticing -- i want to play! Beautiful photos!

So NICE that you could dance around Susanna's winged messenger! Beautiful photo you took. I do believe Susanna was inspired by you and your notes of kindness, to make her wings.
